PCBA Service FAQs

Common questions about our PCB assembly process, capabilities, and pricing.

What files do I need to submit for a PCBA quote?
You'll need: Gerber files (or ODB++/IPC-2581) for the PCB, a Bill of Materials (BOM) in Excel/CSV format, and a Pick-and-Place (centroid) file. For THT components, a reference designator list is helpful. We'll review your package and come back with any questions before quoting.
Do you offer turnkey assembly or only consigned?
We offer both. Turnkey means we source all components, fabricate the PCB, and assemble — you just send us the files. Consigned means you supply some or all of the components and we assemble them. Partial turnkey (you supply some parts, we source the rest) is also supported.
What is your minimum order quantity?
There is no minimum order quantity for prototype assembly — we can build as few as 1 board. For production runs, we typically recommend a minimum of 50 units for economic efficiency, but we can discuss your specific needs.
How long does prototype PCBA take?
Standard prototype assembly is completed within 5 business days from order confirmation (pending component availability). A 3-day rush option is available for urgent projects. Lead time starts after all files are confirmed and components are secured.
Do you perform testing on assembled boards?
Yes. All assemblies include 100% AOI and solder paste inspection (SPI) as standard. Optional services include X-ray inspection (for BGA/QFN), in-circuit testing (ICT), and functional testing (FCT) using customer-supplied test fixtures or procedures.
Can you handle BGA and fine-pitch components?
Yes. We regularly assemble BGAs down to 0.4 mm pitch, QFN, LGA, µBGA, and flip chip components. X-ray inspection is available for hidden-joint verification. Please mention any fine-pitch or complex components when requesting a quote.
How do you protect my design IP?
We treat all customer files and designs as strictly confidential. We are happy to sign an NDA before reviewing your files — please contact us to request one. Our systems use secure file transfer and access is limited to the team working on your project.
What quality standards do you work to?
We assemble to IPC-A-610 Class 2 as standard. Class 3 is available for high-reliability applications (aerospace, medical, automotive). PCB fabrication meets IPC-A-600. Our quality management system is ISO 9001:2015 certified. First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and certificates of conformance are available on request.
